In conversation with a Bangalore based designer Ravina Belani possess the ethnic label RAVINA.
Ravina Belani tell us about her label and the upcoming exhibition in Mumbai.
WT: What’s Ravina Belani style idea for the bride?
RB: My style idea for the bride would be Royal !
WT: What is the fabric and style of work would label RAVINA showcase for this year ethnic attire?
RB: I would choose brocade , velvet and chikan. Adding up needle work of embroidery with Ari work, badla, zardozi , mirror and lots of Gota.
WT: What is trending wedding attire for you Ravina?
RB: Lehngas are always stunning. Depending on the bride Sharara also looks lovely!
WT: Statement jewellery that goes well with RAVINA Label?
RB: Polkis and uncut Diamonds always. They are forever and classic.
WT: Your color crush of the year? And why?
RB: Burgundy would be my pick. This color is alluring. Its not too dark for a celebration, but just dark enough to make the bride stand out all the more. And, of course, its beautiful and sophisticated enough for the most special occasion.
WT: RAVINA’s inspirations for designs come from?
RB: My inspiration began when I was young and saw my mom in her very ethnic attire and lovely Gota dupattas. I loved ethnic clothes !
WT: RAVINA’s exhibiting in Mumbai? Can you share some details for our readers?
RB: The exhibition JOYA is being held In Mumbai on 17 and 18 August 2016. I would be displaying Ethnic Indian Attire here!
WT: Your daughter Rhea is modelling for your ethnic line. Undoubtedly, she is very charming and peach looking. What made you choose her your model? How was your experience and what is that you explored in her?
RB: Rhea modelling for my clothes gives a special feel and personal touch . She’s most casual and has fun while posing ! Full of positive energy ! I loved the way she enjoyed doing this for me. She add sparks to my ethnic line.
WT: How did RAVINA happened?
RB: RAVINA started as a hobby which took off really well ! RAVINA would not have happened without encouragement and complete support from my husband Sunder. I love my work ! Love RAVINA.
